The Safai Centre provides latrines and shower rooms to families from Baharwari who do not have latrines or bathrooms at home. The families keep the keys to their own rooms and share them sparingly if at all with others. A biogas plant that was originally installed with the hope of providing cooking gas to a house nearby was dismantled this year. It might have been better to have stuck to the tried and tested Deenbandhu biogas plant model after all. Today this centre in the middle of the village is gradually being repurposed. The biogas pit is used for walking cat fish fingerlings. There is a pond for the bigger fish next to it. The Mango trees provide shade, there is a water pump for the various water needs at the centre.
